DESIGN A NOVEL

You CAN write that novel! Society of Young Inklings will guide you through the process step-by-step.

Over the course of six weeks, youth writers will play their way through brainstorming challenges, problem-solving activities, and improvisational games with author, Naomi Kinsman, to create a practical, creative blueprint for their next novel.

HOW THE COURSE WORKS

Course Work- Blueprints for a Novel

Process:

After brainstorming and testing a variety of story concepts, each writer will choose one to develop. Next, we'll create a cast of characters, a detailed setting, and a flexible plot. At the end of Design a Novel, each writer will have a few introductory chapters and a solid plan for the rest of the drafting process.

Live Webcasts:

Throughout the course, Naomi will be available via live video to answer questions and help writers problem-solve. Throughout the course, writers will have access to Naomi via email to ask questions, many of which will be tackled in depth during weekly office hours.

Course Schedule:

Parts One and Two of Inklings Lab: Design a Novel will pre-release on January 3, 2019. Our first live webcast will be on the official start date of the course: Thursday, January 24 at 4 pm.

Each week, another section of videos will be released, so Naomi and the writers can work through the material together. However, don't worry about running out of time! You will have access to the course for at least three years, or as long as the course is available here on our site, whichever is longer.
