Some of you are off and running with your passion projects. To you, we say, onward! We’re so excited for you and we’re cheering you on.

Others are just now finishing school and are still making final decisions about what to work on and how to approach their projects. If that’s you, we’ve got you covered. In this interview with Inklings author Avery Yue, we discuss how to choose (and stick with) a passion project idea. We also talk through various approaches to summer creativity.

Avery is a long-time participant in Inklings programs, with a trilogy currently underway in our Your Name in Ink program. She’s also on our Youth Advisory Board and has a lot of wisdom to share about how to stick with your writing even when it’s a struggle. Avery and I also talk about how to make the most of the support Young Inklings has to offer, whether that’s through one-on-one mentorship, the Drafting Workshop, or working on your own to complete your passion project. If you’re thinking about the Drafting Workshop, act quickly. Enrollment for the summer closes on June 16.

Both Avery and I, and the entire Inklings team, are wishing you all our very best as you head into the summer.

Summer is here … will you take on a passion project with the Inklings community? We hope you will!
