 Board Member – Fundraising

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Board Member – Fundraising

As part of the Board, this member will provide strategic leadership and training for the board of directors in support of the organization’s annual and long-range fundraising efforts. This board member will use their network and develop additional networks to enhance fundraising. In coordination with the Executive Director and our back office team, Accordus, this member will help test, evaluate, and refine a sustainable fundraising strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate board efforts in support of the established mid-year and year-end giving campaigns.
  • Coordinating special events and community outreach activities.
  • Increase donor base by widening our network of potential major-gift donors.
  • Research, help identify relevant prospective grant opportunities and individual donors, and collaborate in strategic development of proposal materials.
  • Assist Executive Director with public relations/marketing duties including contacts with businesses, community organizations and the media.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is preferred. Possess the following skills, knowledge and qualities:

  • Three years’ experience in fundraising or a related field.
  • Familiarity with GSuite, spreadsheets, and general comfort with online collaboration tools and technology.
  • Represent the organization through strong interpersonal skills while working with donors, staff, volunteers and the general public.
