OUR NEXT EVENT:
Author Interview: Amanda Glaze
Monday, November 10, 4:00-5:00 PM PT / 7:00-8:00 PM ET
Join us for our November Author Interview with a beloved Inklings mentor and award winning author Amanda Glaze.Â
Amanda is the imaginative voice behind The Second Death of Edie and Violet Bond and The Lies of Alma Blackwell. In The Lies of Alma Blackwell, Amanda blends gothic atmosphere with romance and heart-stirring emotion.Â
In our conversation, we’ll explore how Amanda finds the heart of her stories—from uncovering the emotional truths that drive her characters to weaving the perfect balance of mystery, magic, and meaning. You’ll walk away inspired and ready to bring more heart into your own writing!Â
Community events are open to all Inklings, but you must register to attend.
Inklings under 13 years old must use a parent/guardian email address for registration.
Please review our community guidelines below.
Inklings Community Event Guidelines & Important Info
- If you are under age 13, you MUST register for events with your parent or guardian’s email address, not your own.
Inklings over the age of 13 may use whatever email their parents/guardians prefer them to use. - If fewer than 5 Inklings are registered 24 hours before an event begins, SYI may choose to cancel the event and notify registrants.
- Spilling Ink events are in Zoom Meeting format, meaning if you choose, you can have your camera and mic on. If you prefer not to, that’s okay too! We find that live and real-time participation from our Inklings enhances our events, and supports your writerly and creative development.
- Author Interview events are in Zoom Webinar format, meaning that your camera and sound will be off. The chat will be open for you and your fellow Inklings and we’d love for you to come with questions for our interview guest!
To keep our community safe and fun, please be …
- Kind: We’re here to build each other up, not tear each other down
- Age Appropriate: Our community welcomes writers from ages 8–18. To make sure everyone feels comfortable, we stick with topics you’d find in a PG movie. Please keep your shared work free from violent, harmful, or adult-only themes.
- Safe: Don’t share personal or sensitive information like your home address, phone number, or any other personal information.
If you have questions about what you should or should not share, talk to your parent/guardian. Parents/guardians – we encourage you to regularly discuss Internet safety with your child.
