You CAN write that novel! Society of Young Inklings will guide you through the process step-by-step.
Over the course of six weeks, youth writers will play their way through brainstorming challenges, problem-solving activities, and improvisational games with author, Naomi Kinsman, to create a practical, creative blueprint for their next novel.
Registration is now closed. Our next session will open in June.
Should you have any questions about Design a Novel, feel free to reach out to Naomi Kinsman at email@example.com.
Maybe you're like Avery, and you'e ready to challenge yourself to create characters with emotional depth and humor. You want characters you can believe in that will motivate you to keep drafting your novel all the way through "the end."
Or maybe you're like Sophia, and you've been inspired to write a novel that will change people's perspectives and make an impact in the world.
Part One: Sketching Ideas
Part Two: Crafting Characters
Step Three: Designing Storytelling Style
Step Four: Building the World of Your Story
Step Five: Structuring Plot
After brainstorming and testing a variety of story concepts, each writer will choose one to develop. Next, we'll create a cast of characters, a detailed setting, and a flexible plot. At the end of Design a Novel, each writer will have a few introductory chapters and a solid plan for the rest of the drafting process.
Throughout the course, Naomi will be available via live video to answer questions and help writers problem-solve. Throughout the course, writers will have access to Naomi via email to ask questions, many of which will be tackled in depth during weekly office hours.
Our next session opens in June.
Each week, another section of videos will be released, so Naomi and the writers can work through the material together. However, don't worry about running out of time! You will have access to the course for at least three years, or as long as the course is available here on our site, whichever is longer.
Q: When does the course start and finish?
A: For the first six weeks from the course start date, you will receive additional help moving through the program in the form of live video webcasts and email support. From there, it is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you work and when you finish.
This year we have 3 sessions planned with start dates of January 24, 2019, March 18, 2019, and June 17, 2019.
Q: How long do I have access to the course?
A: For three years, or as long as the course is available on our site, whichever is longer. After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course - across any and all devices you own.
Q: What if I am unhappy with the course?
A: We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a full refund.
