Amelia has been in search of perfection her whole life. “I set myself the challenge of writing a 300 page book in a month. That meant I needed to write five pages every day. I was really immersed in my characters and was almost in constant writing mode, so it enabled me to write with a lot more fluidity. At the risk of sounding cheesy, I learned a lot about what I was made of. I think that when you write a novel you pour everything into it, giving it every idea that you have.”
“My favorite part of the process was definitely talking about my characters with my mentor. To me, my characters will always be really cool people who seem real in my imagination. The best advice I could give you is to do your characters justice on paper – go as deep as possible for every character, even minor ones. If every character was as real as they are in your head, they would be the hero of their own story, not in the background of yours.”

Sara Fay has chosen the Boys and Girls club as the charity that will receive 50% of the profits from her book sales. The other 50% will go directly back into the Your Name In Ink Program to help create publishing opportunities for future authors. Through her writing, Fay hopes to help Boys and Girls Club create a space where every child feels at home.
